India Approves VISTAR Initiative to Strengthen Statistical Research and Analytics

On 4 November, the Union Cabinet approved the Viksit Bharat Initiative for Statistical Transformation, Analytics and Research (VISTAR), covering 2026–27 to 2030–31. The scheme aims to improve statistical systems and research capabilities; its total financial outlay was not specified in the announcement.
